Schedule & Rhythms
So... I’m not a morning person, at all! I’m also horrible at keeping routines. These are patterns I’ve been trying to break for a long time.
I’ve been able to function as a Mom without mastering this, but with four kids now, mornings are hardcore. It’s not working.
I realize that in some areas, this season of life is just going to be crazy. However, I am still responsible for the example that I’m setting for my children. Its taken me years to overcome fundamental things in my life; just because I couldn’t keep the structure necessary for success. I don’t want this quality passed down to my girls.
So today we turned a new leaf and made a routine checklist for Kennedy. She’s super pumped about it... at least for now. And yes, putting on perfume is a part of her morning routine… Would you expect anything less from Kennedy?
In our humanity, it can be hard to admit our weaknesses sometimes. Once you become a parent, I think it’s vital to be able to communicate your shortcomings. Mastering this skill opens up the opportunity to seek help from others and parent with transparency.
